Basic Pistol Safety Course (The Florida Concealed Weapon or Firearms License)
Included in this 4 hour course are lessons covering:
1) Introduction to Pistol Safety, Parts, and Operation
(With emphasis on either Revolvers or Semi-Automatic Pistols)
2) Ammunition and the Fundamentals of Pistol Shooting
(Includes Ammunition Compatibility, Identification, & Cartridge Malfunctions)
3) Pistol Shooting from the Two-Handed Standing Position in this course
4) Live Pistol Shooting
The NRA Basic Pistol Orientation is designed to provide a hands-on introduction to the safe handling and proper orientation to one specific pistol action type for classes of eight or fewer students. This course is approximately four hours long and includes classroom and range time learning to shoot a specific pistol action type. Students will learn the NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; the particular pistol model parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; and continued opportunities for skill development. Students will receive the NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Basic Pistol Safety Course completion certificate, and all necessary material from Wingler Firearms Training.
Much materials and training methods used in this course were prepared and developed by the NRA through years of experience and constant modification to fulfill the needs of an ever-changing society. The instructor conducting this course is a highly trained and is certified by the National Rifle Association.
This course fulfills the training requirements for the FLORIDA Concealed Weapon or Firearm License.
